Terms and Conditions

1. Parties and scope

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Emirhan Yıldız ("we") and the person ("you") who uses the Caelum mobile app and related services (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian. Additional age rules of the app stores and of your country also apply.

3. Account creation and security

• You can create an account with email and password, Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give and for keeping your sign-in details confidential.
• If you notice unauthorised use of your account, tell us immediately at support@appcaelum.com.

4. The Service

Caelum is a personal journal app that lets you choose a feeling each day and keep a written memory or a short video, see these records as a monthly star map, and receive an optional AI reading at the end of the month. Features may change over time.

5. Ownership of your content

The videos you record, the text you write and the feelings you choose ("Your Content") belong to you.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, encrypt, process and display Your Content to you, solely to provide the Service. We do not use Your Content for any other purpose, sell it or share it with others.

6. Your responsibilities

• Record only content you have the right to record; do not record other people’s image or voice without telling them and, where required, getting their permission.
• You are responsible for Your Content complying with applicable law.
• We recommend keeping a separate copy of memories that matter to you.

7. Storage of videos and memories

Written memories and videos are stored on our service providers’ servers after being encrypted on your device. One memory can be kept per day. Videos are up to 10 seconds long and available only with the Celestial subscription.

8. Emotion tracking

Feelings are chosen by you; Caelum does not guess or measure them. Monthly maps and statistics only visualise the records you choose.

9. Limits of the AI analysis

• The monthly reading is optional and based only on the feeling records you choose, their dates and the map computed from them. Your videos and written memories are not used.
• The reading is generated automatically by a language model; it may contain statements that are wrong, incomplete or don’t fit you.
• The reading is for personal reflection only; it is not a psychological assessment, diagnosis or advice.

10. Advertising

The Service currently shows no ads. If ads are introduced in the future, these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated.

11. Free and paid plans

• Free plan: choosing feelings, written memories and monthly maps.
• Celestial (paid subscription): everything in the free plan, plus daily video memories.
• Current prices and subscription periods are shown in the app and in the app store. Prices may vary by country.

12. Payments and automatic renewal

Payments are taken through the Apple App Store or Google Play, via your store account.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.

13. Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel at any time in your store account’s subscription settings (iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep Celestial features until then. Refund requests are subject to the store’s policies. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.

14. Free trials

If a free trial is offered, its length and terms are shown on the store screen before purchase. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts as a paid one.

15. Storage limits

Each account has a storage limit (currently 500 MB). When it is reached, new videos can’t be uploaded; written memories and your existing videos are not affected.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where the law requires it. Where possible, we will tell you in advance.

17. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. Deleted data can’t be recovered. See the Account Deletion page for details.

18. Intellectual property

The app’s design, artwork, software, name and logo belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify or distribute them without our written permission.

19. Prohibited use

• Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the Service, bypass its security or disrupt it,
• using the Service for reverse engineering, automated data collection or mass account creation,
• storing unlawful content or infringing the rights of others,
• using another person’s account without permission.

20. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party services such as Google Firebase, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, Apple, Google and the AI provider. We have limited control over outages of these services or the consequences of their own terms.

21. Limitation of liability

We provide the Service as it is and do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages or loss of data.

These limitations do not affect liability for intent or gross negligence, or consumer rights that cannot be limited by contract.

22. Health and psychological disclaimer

Caelum is not a health service, a medical device or a psychological counselling tool; it does not diagnose, treat or advise.

If you have been feeling unwell for a long time, we encourage you to speak to a health professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye and the EU).

23. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will tell you about significant changes in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

24. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Turkish law. As a consumer, you may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee where you live, within the legal monetary limits, and to the Consumer Courts above those limits. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
